Artist Statement

I came to America when I was 14. It is a new beginning for me to study in a different country. So I photograph my passport and the airline ticket to shows my path of getting to the new life. I put a blue velvet sheet under the objects to represent the feeling of the sea. And I find a light source on the side of the object to create shadows on the image to create a sense of depth. It comes out like I had envisioned it, but if I would reshoot it, I will photograph under the sunlight to make the image give a more positive feeling when people look at it.
